I Love Puppies

By Petia Bondokova

Really, I do. They are so fluffy and cute, looking at me with their tender brown eyes every morning when I walk to work on foot. No, this is not sarcasm, and not another moaning and groaning about Sofia's enduring issue with stray dogs. But we have a problem with the domestic four-legged as well. Especially now when there is no more snow to cover the outcome of their morning toilet. With the capital's spring cleanup campaign going already, wouldn't it be nice if dog owners tried not to let the cuties ease nature in the busiest places? It is puzzling how much effort people put into dressing up the doggies with tiny fashion shirts and pullovers for a day's walk out, but in the same time don't care enough to stop them from making poo-poo on sidewalks, in front of homes, offices, shops...It is obvious that pet-owners need some education, and why not stricter sanctions, too, if we all want to have a cleaner and more European capital. Sure that is not the problem you would think about night and day. But it's the little things that make a difference.
