A full eclipse will make the Moon less bright on Tuesday night, astronomers say.

Europe, Africa and western Asia are in the best position to observe the phenomenon.

The darkest phase of the eclipse will be around 23:48 GMT, reports say.

However, there won't be a significant darkening of the Lunar surface. This so called penumbral eclipse occurs when the Moon only passes through the Earth prenumbra, the outer portion of the Earth's shadow.
