Sofia municipality has officiated the new illumination of centre-city monument of Apostle Vassil Levski.
Realized with the support of a local insurance company, the newly gleaming facility is now ready for the 113th anniversary celebration of Apostle's death.
On that historic date, February 19, the municipal authorities plan to hold a cross-city marathon to mark the solemn anniversary.
The illumination initiative is part of a municipal project that envisages putting additional lights to the historic, cultural and most representative buildings of the two-million capital city, including the Synod, Sofia University, the tomb of Prince Alexander Batenberg, the National Library, etc.
