TOUR OPERATORS CALL FOR TAX REDUCTION

The government will support the development of the tourism sector so tax burden would not be problem for tour operators, Deputy PM and Economy Minister Jotev said at the official opening of the sea season. The revenues from tourism are expected to increase with 30%. The number of Russian tourists boosts this year, Deputy Minister of Economy Mariana Assenova, said. The deadline for finalizing construction works at the Sunny Beach complex has been prolonged by 10 days due to demands of the tour operators. Ban for construction activities from June 15 to the end-October was provided in the privatisation contracts relating the complex. Representatives of the tourist business called for solution of the problem with the high taxes for concession of the beaches and 20% VAT.
