A list of key tasks concerning Bulgaria’s European integration was approved by the Cabinet on January 10. State Administration Minister Dimitur Kalchev is to draw up an action plan for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy. He is also to update the Strategy for Modern Administration System development.

Under the adopted plan Justice Minister Anton Stankov is to do the same for the Bulgarian Judicial Reform Strategy. Foreign Minister Solomon Passy will be in charge of the preparation of a Decree on Organization and Coordination of Bulgaria's Preparation for EU membership and Accession Talks. The document will rule on the establishment of a new working group on administrative capacity issues. The elaboration of a Communication Strategy for Bulgaria Accession to the EU and a Strategy for EU accession acceleration were also assigned to him.

The cabinet requires Finance Minister Milen Velchev and Regional Development Minister Kostadin Paskalev to prepare a Strategy for Bulgaria's Participation in EU Structural Funds.

The above-mentioned documents should be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration until end-January. Some of them have already been drafted, and only some technical work needs to be done before they are formally presented. The cabinet also entrusts Energy and Energy Efficiency Minister Milko Kovachev with the task to update the National Strategy for Energy Sector Development and Energy Efficiency Promotion, following mandatory consultations with the European Commission.
