MOST BULGARIANS FIND CABINET’S WORK UNSATISFACTORY

Every second Bulgarian thinks that the government is not doing well in improving the living standard of the people, data from a national representative survey of poll agency Noema show. The survey has been conducted from December 20, 2001 till January 2, 2002.

No more than 3,3 % of the respondents expressed the opinion that the problems concerning the people’s prosperity are being successfully solved, while 40,7% find the Cabinet’s work average and 24,7% - good.

Two of the most urgent problems in the country – unemployment and corruption – are evaluated with different figures but all negatively – 58,8% and 38,2% respectively think that the Cabinet’s efforts to solve the problems have failed.

Only 45 of the participants in the poll think that the Cabinet has made progress in reviving the Bulgarian economy.

According to Noema survey if parliamentary elections are organized now 30,3% will not go to the polls at all. 13,7% of those who wold use their right to vote would vote for the National Movement Simoen II, 15,2% - for Coalition for Bulgaria and 9,8% for the United Democratic Forces.
