The Archeological Museum in Sofia has considerably enlarged its exhibition adding some of the latest archeological findings to its collection.
This year, when the museum celebrates a centenary, archeologists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences made quite a progress in excavating sites across the country.
Thus the old capitals of Pliska and Preslav revealed more of their architecture, infrastructure, culture and traditions.
Among the brightest exhibits that can now be seen in the center-placed museum is the rhyton believed to be in possession of an ancient Thracian ruler (the middle of IV c. B.C.).
On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the laboratory of the National Archeological Museum recently received equipment worth USD 375,000 as a Japanese donation.
