Bulgaria's Defence Minister Vesselin Bliznakov has awarded the top ten army sports people for 2005 in a Sofia ceremony on Tuesday. Boxer Alexsey Shaydulin received the top prize for his brilliant performances in the EU and world tournaments, where he grabbed the first and second place respectively. He was followed by fellow sportsman Sergent Kubrat Pulev and sambo and judo player Ivan Iliev. More gymnastics, karate, judo, sambo and athletics players made it to the top ten. The CSKA women's volleyball team grabbed the "Team of the Year" award for their win at the Bulgaria championship, and Atanas Petrov received the "Coach of the Year" prize. Bulgaria's Olympic Committee President Stefka Kostadinova and Sports Agency Chief Vessela Lecheva also handed out some of the prizes.
