Verses from the Polish Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz have been placed on the wall of a Sofia school on Tuesday.

"Poetry on the Wall" is an initiative of the Dutch embassy gathering the embassies of all EU Member countries.

The goal is to popularize the versatility of the European languages and literature by "adopting" a wall in the center of Sofia and adorning it with a poem by a local author, written in their native tongue.

"What Once Was Great" by Milosz is the ninth poem to appear on a Sofia wall in the course of the project.

Milosz received the Nobel prize in Literature in 1980 and passed away August 14, 2004.
