Bulgarian journalist Iva Dimova from the Military TV Channel received the award of the State Refugees Agency with the Council of Ministers for best journalistic material on the subject "Refugees in Bulgaria."
The reporter swept the award with her film "One of eight millions" with operator Ruslan Tsvetkov.
The award of BGN 800 was presented to the winner by the Agency's Chair Boyko Antonov at a ceremony held in M3 Communications College and attended by many contest participants, employees of the State Refugees Agency and foreigners with a refugee statute.
"We are grateful to all participants in the contests, whose work helped us improve the public's knowledge and understanding of the "refugees" problem and promote the establishment of a tolerance culture, which is of great importance for the adaptation of the refugees in our society, Daniela Veleva, head of the PR department in the agency said.
Docent Vessela Tabakova, chair of the "Center of independent journalism" foundation and member of the jury also said that not only the winner but also all other materials are reviewing questions of present interest on the refugees' topic. The jury also included Ognyan Zlatev, chair of the center for Media Development, Rumen Galev, Chief Secretary of the Agency and Daniela Veleva.
