Sofia jumped up and down all night long to the beat of John Creamer and Stephane K from New York in Viva Sound Factory, organized by Metropolis Bulgaria.

The winter palace was packed with fans, who faced the dawn, despite the lack of the party's headliner Sven Vath, whose flight was cancelled due to heavy fogs.

Some of the fans decided that the world-known German DJ was the only one who could have made this night worthwhile and claimed their ticket refund at the cash register. The vast majority, however stayed, and rightfully so, for the two DJs from New York offered them a night to remember.

Creamer and K, who made a hit from Kosheen's Hide U remix, came to Bulgaria with no big expectations but were soon blown away by the enthusiasm of the audience. They started with the unusual combination of two turntables, two CD players and a laptop.

"I'm a dying breed, still in love with the vinyl," John Creamer said minutes before the party, "there is a really sexy feel with vinyl."

As for Stephane K who started the trend of using a Mac laptop in the mixing, he said that when everybody started playing with laptops he'd go back to vinyl.

Thank God for the fog, they both joked before going live, for they admitted that they had been worried about mixing after a DJ with such a different style and beat as Sven Vath.

Once on stage, however they blew the crowd and found out that they liked Bulgaria.

Viva Sound Factory was the second sound factory event organized by Metropolis, this time with the help of Bulgaria's new GSM operator vivatel. It was the first of a series of ten such events over the next year, Garry Radcliffe, vivatel's Product Services Director explained.

Apart from three more parties in Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Sunny Beach, Plovdiv and Ruse will also host such events over 2006.
