Bulgaria has good prospects to become a NATO member next year, US congressman Douglas Beroiter said. He is a leader of a US Congress delegation, visiting Bulgaria to evaluate the progress of the country towards EU and NATO membership. The delegation has meetings with President Petar Stoyanov, PM Ivan Kostov, Foreign Minister Nadejda Mihailova and Defense Minister Boiko Noev. Bulgaria’s economic growth and its role as a stabilizing factor in the region contribute for the accession of the country to EU and NATO. `Fulfillment of the criteria for EU and NATO membership will lead to the boost of FDI in Bulgaria`, congressman Beroiter said.
