A record-high amount of BGN 50 000 have been collected during the one-month campaign for fight against breast cancer, organized by the International Women's Club (IWC). The money will be enough for purchasing a mammography machine.

"We met with the support and cooperation of different people and organizations. This gave us the confidence that in a few years we will be able to collect the sum necessary for purchasing a mammography machine," Medi Al-Jebouri, President of the International Women's Club (IWC), said at a meeting with journalists at the residency of the British Ambassador Jeremy Hill.

The traditional Christmas charity bazaar organized by the International Women's Club Sofia will be held on 20 November this year in a bid to help the socially disadvantaged people in Bulgaria.

The fifth international campaign against breast cancer takes part under the patronage of the spouse of President Parvanov, Zorka Parvanova.

The International Women's Club Sofia was founded in 1989 by female representatives of diplomatic and business missions. The charity organization numbers over 25 members from all over the world and implements a number of charity projects in Bulgaria, making donations to associations of disabled people and children and social care institutions.
