Bird Flu Virus in Canada

Authorities in Canada have detected the bird flu virus in 33 wild ducks during a survey along migratory flight paths in seven Canadian provinces. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a statement that 28 wild ducks in Quebec and five in Manitoba had tested positive for the H5 bird flu strain, which is different from the lethal H5N1 strain that has killed 62 people in Southeast Asia.
