Opera and jazz diva Barbara Hendricks staged an exciting gig in Sofia on the day of mayor elections.

The European Commission's head for Bulgaria Dimitris Kourkoulas enjoyed the performance, also attended by the ambassadors of France and Sweden.

A total of 3,000 music lovers watched the show live at the National Palace of Culture.

Hendricks was accompanied by the jazz formation of Magnus Lindgren, one of the most talented jazz composers of all times.

Since her 1974 New York Town Hall debut, Barbara Hendricks has been acclaimed as one of the leading and most active recitalists of her generation and in addition to her vast repertoire of German Lieder she is also known as a leading interpreter and staunch promoter of French, American and Scandinavian music.
