Guardian Journalist Kidnapped

A journalist for the Guardian newspaper has been kidnapped by an armed gang, the paper has said as quoted by Sky News. It is believed Baghdad correspondent Rory Carroll may have been abducted by armed men while on assignment in the capital, BBC reported. The paper said in a statement it was urgently seeking information about the 33-year-old Republic of Ireland national. Rory Carroll had been in Iraq for nine months. He previously worked as South Africa correspondent.
