Pakistan Says Quake Toll 38,000

Pakistan's government has said it now believes more than 38,000 people were killed by the South Asian earthquake a week ago, BBC reported. That is an increase of more than 13,000 on its former estimate. At least 1,400 died in Indian-administered Kashmir. In some of the areas worst affected, heavy rain and strong winds temporarily grounded helicopter flights.
