Bulgaria's deputy defence minister has earned recognition for his captivating hobby - collecting post maps.

On the October 9 World Post Day, the post map collections of Spass Panchev were chosen to represent Bulgaria in a series of international expos.

The deputy minister's rare belongings are dated back to the 19th Century and earlier. He also owns a collection entitled "Post Maps from East Rumelia."

Spain, Belgium and Germany will soon have the chance to see Panchev's pieces.

The latter were exhibited at a special event in Veliko Tarnovo, central Bulgaria.

Also on Sunday, Bulgaria launched a special post envelope, celebrating the Post Day.
