The Bureau for Financial Investigation (BFI) has identified 25 criteria for dubious deals classified as money laundering. Traders in tobacco products, spirits and petrol are obliged to keep for five years information for all deals for Bulgarian levs (BGN) 30,000 plus. BFI recommends to all traders to translate the criteria in their own practices. For money laundering is considered a deal priced BGN 30,000 plus for which a number of invoices of up to BGN 5,000 are required. A deal to that amount but not matching the client`s core activities is also dubious. Payments to the above mentioned amount in banknotes of up to BGN 5 is also bearing signals for money laundering, BFI experts said.
