Sofia district court sentenced under the fast track procedure sixteen football fans, who were arrested after a melee broke out in the clash between Bulgaria's grands Levski and CSKA.

Six policemen were injured and 77 football fans arrested after violence erupted at Vassil Levski stadium Sunday evening. The arrested fans, including several girls, remained in custody for 24 hours.

Five panels of Sofia district court convened Tuesday to hear 36 cases against the fans of the two teams.

Many of the arrested were found not guilty and released, others were fined BGN 200 or sentenced to remain in custody for fifteen days.

Another group of fans have been banned to attend football matched for a period of one year.
