Ophelia Strengthens into Hurricane

Tropical Storm Ophelia strengthened into a hurricane as it sat off Florida's Atlantic Coast. Ophelia had top winds of 120km/h, up from 80km/h a day earlier and just over the 118km/h threshold for hurricane status, the National Hurricane Center said. But forecasters said it was still unclear where Ophelia was headed. Ophelia is the 15th named storm of the season. It remained nearly stationary Thursday night. Forecasters predict it should turn out into the Atlantic over the next few days, but that wasn't a certainty.
