Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has sacked the Cabinet amid corruption allegations, the BBC broke Thursday. The drastic measure comes after several Ukrainian top officials - including Deputy Prime Minister Mykola Tomenko and the head of the Security and Defence Council, Petro Poroshenko - resigned over bribery claims. Yushckenko has appointed a regional governor from the east as acting Premier. According to media observers, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and the head of the Security and Defence Council, Petro Poroshenko, were at loggerheads from the start.
