FOREIGN INVESTMENTS PER CAPITA USD 83

The annual foreign investment per capita were $83.32 during the 1997-1999 period in Bulgaria, a KPMG consultants report said. The foreign investments for the period totalled $2 Bln. Foreign investors` interest is topped by Bulgarian industry, which absorbed some 27% of the investments. Two other sectors are following-trade, with some 17%, and financial services, with 13%. In the privatisation process in Bulgaria were utilised one-third plus of the foreign investments, and green field investments amounted to 23%. Foreign investments of over $50 M are some 13%. KPMG analysis is based on the results of 230 companies operating in Bulgaria.
