A stairway collapsed Friday when thousands of teen-agers tried to get into a disco in downtown Sofia, and the interior minister said at least seven young people died. State radio said some 3,000 teen-agers were trying to get into the disco at the time of the collapse. Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov said officials were investigating, but it did not appear that the owners of the disco, called Indigo, were at fault. Prime Minister Simeon Saxcoburggotski rushed to a hospital where injured teen-agers were being treated. Friday was the last day of the school term, and many teen-agers were celebrating with a night on the town.
