Bulgaria has been selected to host the International Olympics in Informatics scheduled for 2009.

This emerged as the Bulgarian national team returned victorious from this year's Olympics in Poland, where they won three silver and one bronze medals.

Bulgaria's hosting of the Olympics was secured in Poland by a team of experts, facing heavy competition by rivaling Canada.
