GDP FOR FIRST NINE MONTHS WENT UP WITH 4.7%

The GDP for the nine months of 2001 has risen 4.7 % from the same period in 2000, the National Statistics Institute /NSI/ announced. Its nominal value is BGN 20,139.4 M, which makes BGN 2,465 per capita GDP. The added value produced by the entities of the national economy for the nine months of 2001 amounted to BGN 17,780.4 M. The real value of the indicator is 5 % higher than the one achieved for the nine months of 2000. The private sector produces 71.5 % of the added value in the economy, which is 8.7 % up. Enterprises and institutions in the public sector produced 3.2 per cent less added value compared to the nine months of 2000, the NSI said.The foreign trade balance of goods and services is negative by BGN 1,097.1 M. The index of the physical volume of the imports of goods and services is 3.3 points higher than the one of the exports. The imports have increased by 15.8% and the exports – by 12.5%.
