Madonna was seriously injured on Tuesday, as she was out riding on her 47th birthday.
Her spokeswoman described her as being "pretty banged about", Sky News reported.
The star had gone out riding on her country estate in Wiltshire when she fell off - breaking her collarbone, cracking three ribs and fracturing her hand.
Her husband Guy Ritchie drove her to Salisbury District Hospital, where she was treated before being released last night.
An onlooker at the hospital told the Daily Mirror: "She was clearly in agony and was in floods of tears."
An orthopaedic surgeon at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage said that the singer was unlikely to need surgery but won't be able to dance again for a few months at least.
