Saddam Hussein could be executed if found guilty in his first trial, an official close to the proceedings has said. The ousted Iraqi ruler will be tried over the 1982 massacre of 150 Shiites in Dujail, north of Baghdad. Meanwhile, about a dozen of other cases against Saddam are being prepared. Saddam Hussein was captured by American soldiers in December 2003, after ruling Iraq for 23 years.
