Bulgaria's tennis hopeful Sesil Karatantcheva, who turns 16 on Monday, excelled superstar Magdalena Maleeva in the latest WTA ranking.
Sesil climbed by 11 places in the ranking reaching the 38th place in the world ranking.
Last week she reached the quarterfinals in the US grand tournament quarterfinals in San Diego, California. In the quarterfinals she was defeated Japan's Ai Sugiyama.
Maleeva, who took part in no contests over the last week, dropped down by 20 places reaching 56th place with 666 points collected from 23 tournaments.
The other Bulgarian hopeful Tsvetana Pironkova retained her 98th place.
