Bulgaria's football heavyweight Levski, winner of the Cup of Bulgaria, beat CSKA on penalties to be crowned Super Cup champion.

Following a tie of 1:1 after the second half of the match, Topuzakov, Borimirov and Tomashich scored for Levski. Their rivals missed to score three times.

Security measures have been tightened ahead of the encounter. A special police team checked in advance for hidden pyrotechnical devices on the stadium.

Greek top referee Kiros Vasaras superintended the match, for which 20,000 entry tickets were printed. The audience was rather sparse, however, as no more than 9,000 fans at the stadium.
