Proceedings Against Saddam 'Days Away'

Court proceedings against deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein could begin within days, according to a special tribunal which says it has made the first charges against him. The tribunal's chief investigating judge says Saddam has been charged along with three other defendants in connection with the killing of Shi'ite Muslims in the village of Dujail, north of Baghdad, in 1982. Court proceedings against Saddam and the others could begin "within days", the judge, Raed Jouhi said, quoted by Sky News.
