Craig Reedie is Great Britain's member of the International Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the British Olympic Association (BOA). He entered in the IOC in 1994. Member of the following Commissions: Marketing (former "New Sources of Financing", 1995-), Coordination for the Games of he XXVIII Olympiad, Athens 2004 (1998-), "IOC 2000" (1999), Evaluation for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad 2008 (2001), Coordination for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, Beijing 2008 (2002-). Former partner in a firm of independent financial advisors.
Mr Reedie answered questions of Sofia News Agency Editor Nadya Dimitrova days after the International Olympic Committee decided to expel its Bulgarian member, Ivan Slavkov.
Q: How will Slavkov's case affect Bulgaria's 2014 Olympic bid?
A: The Bid from Bulgaria for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games is many months away from decision and the Bid Committee will have many opportunities to promote the candidacy. The involvement of the NOC in a Bid is different in different countries.
Q: Is Bulgaria's sports image abroad marred by the scandal?
A: I do not believe that the image of Bulgaria is affected.
Q: How can Bulgaria overcome the results of that international scandal?
A: Good results from Bulgarian teams and athletes are the best way to ensure recovery.
Q: Has Slavkov's case shattered IOC's image?
A: The President of the IOC has a "zero tolerance" policy and the decision can only reinforce that policy.
