Bulgaria's Tennis Players Up-Seeded

Bulgaria's top three female tennis players climbed up in the WTA ranking.

Veteran Magdalena Maleeva remains the highest-ranked Bulgarian at the 37th position. Maleeva, who draws near the end of her playing career, was previously at number 43.

Teenage prodigy Sesil Karatantcheva jumped up four spots, from 52 to 48. In May, Sesil upset 11-seeded Venus Williams by beating her 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 in a French Open match.

Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova also progressed in the ranking from 137 to 127.
