1st Cannabis Drug Goes on Sale

The world's first cannabis-based drug has been put out for sale, world media disclosed Monday. The Sativex mouth spray for multiple sclerosis treatment is now available on the Canadian market. The drug was developed by the UK company GW Pharmaceuticals, which said that the aim was to gain approval for Sativex across Europe. The company has not won a UK licence for the spray yet, although they hoped to achieve that in 2003.
