Bulgaria's best sprinters have started off at the home athletics contest to clock down high results.

The European Champion at 200m Ivet Lalova has seen weak rivalry to win the 100m semis with 11.09 seconds against a -0.3 m/s wind.

Veteran discus-thrower Tsvetanka Hristova blew off competitors cementing her 1991 world title with a result of 52.53 m.

Tanya Stefanova jumped highest at the pole-vault with a record of 4.35 m, slightly less than her personal record of 4.50 m.

A new national record was written down at the girls' hammer throwing by Siana Kirilova hitting 54.70 m.
