The coach of the Bulgarian national football team has reportedly been invited to head an unnamed foreign football club.

Hristo Stoitchkov received the offer right after Bulgaria's defeat to Croatia (1:3) on Saturday, Trud Daily reported in its Monday issue.

The defeat dealt a fatal blow to Bulgaria's hopes to qualify for the 2006 finals in Germany.

The club, whose name was not disclosed, is said to be among the teams to enter the European tournaments.

Hristo Stoitchkov is expected to announce his decision by the end of the week.

I will make my mind in the next few days, Stoitchkov told Trud Daily.

"I want to hear first the opinions of the fans, the factors in the Bulgarian Football Union. I have never run away when the going gets tough, I have never given up halfway through," he said.

"It is no problem for me to quit if I don't have support and receive better offers," Stoitchkov added.

Should he stay in Bulgaria, Hristo Stoitchkov is expected to insist on refreshing the national team by letting in more young footballers.
