Maybe I made mistake, which caused the first and the third Croatian goal, said Bulgaria's team coach Hristo Stoitchkov, when asked to comment the 1:3 fall of the team against Croatia.
"I am very disappointed with the result. We did our best, but obviously in important matches we cannot handle the psychological pressure", the football legend said at a press conference after the end of the encounter in Sofia.
Stoitchkov promised from now on to give chance for performance to the younger players, who, as he said, are the future of the team.
"The Croatians came here for one purpose - to play well and to win, and they did it", the coach also said.
He expressed his discontent with Dimitar Berbatov's fault, which brought him a yellow card, disabling him to play at the next match with Sweden.
"Definitely it wasn't his day, but it is very unappropriate a player of his rank to act this way", Stoitchkov concluded.
On Saturday Bulgaria lost its last chance to qualify for the World Cup finals in Germany, after an unconditional 3:1 defeat from the team of Croatia.
The Croatian goal masters were Marko Babic (19'), Igor Tudor (58') and Niko Kranjcar (80').
The Bulgarian sharpshooter Martin Petrov scored the only goal of his team in the 73rd minute.
