Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) under India’s Commerce Ministry has recommended imposition of provisional duties against imports of acrylic fibre from Bulgaria, Asian News Network Asia Pulse reported on December 12. The other countries on which duties have been imposed are Great Britain, Germany, Brazil and Italy. A total of USD 0.619 per kg on all exporters from Bulgaria has been recommended. The decision was taken after DGAD conducted an investigation during the period April 2000 to March 2001 on the basis of a petition by the Forum of Acrylic Fibre Manufacturers. DGAD in its findings has concluded that domestic industry has suffered material injury and the injury has been caused by dumped imports from the subject countries.
