Bulgarian teen star Sesil Karatantcheva has recorded yet another victory at this year's Rolland Garros in Paris after defeating Sunday Emmanuelle Gagliardi of Switzerland.

In their first ever meeting on clay court, it took the Bulgarian youngster just 75 minutes to record two winning sets 7-5 6-3 against the Swiss.

Gagliardi struggled on her own serve as she was countered by a barrage of accurate returns from the youngster. She won just 54% of points on her first serve and only 29 % went forced to rely on her second.

Karatantcheva now goes on to meet Elena Likhovtseva - the winner of the all-Russian battle 7-6 5-7 7-5 with last year's runner-up Elena Dementieva.

Fifteen-year-old Sesil Karatantcheva made heads turn on Friday after she dumped American 11th seed Venus Williams out of the French Open. The Bulgarian, reigning French Open junior champion, won the third round tie 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.

"I'm looking forward to a match," she has said after the historic victory. "I can't predict anything. I'm just going to - as in the last matches - look forward and try to play my best tennis."

"I'm feeling really well but I don't think I'm playing as well because I guess the pressure really is getting me. I hope that formy quarters I'll be more relaxed," she said.

Sesil now stands close to becoming the youngest women's champion in the history of Roland Garros. That honour currently belongs to Monica Seles who was 16 and six months when she was champion here in 1990.
