The Bulgarian visit of a star like Jose Carreras is surely to pinnacle the cultural life of Sofia where the world-famed tenor will stage a concert on Saturday.

The performance of Carreras here is part of the Salon of Arts program and all events in relation to the May 24 celebrations dedicated to Bulgarian letters and culture.

The legendary opera singer will be accompanied on stage by the famous Spanish conductor David Jimenez, who is also his nephew.

For Bulgarian audience, Jose Carreras will perform the most popular pieces of his vast repertoire, which includes about 60 operas and more than 600 pieces from different genres - from baroque to pop music.

The opera star has personally approved Bulgaria's soprano Tsvetelina Maldzhanska to perform together with him on the stage.
