A car bomb blast rocking the Spanish capital has been claimed by terrorist group ETA. The explosion came just after the peak rush hour and followed a warning by the Basque separatist group. Police said one person appeared to have been injured in the blast. They have cordoned off the scene in the San Blas district just north of the centre of Madrid. The warning call was said to have been made to Basque newspaper Gara, often a mouthpiece for ETA. On March 11, 2004, attacks on trains in Madrid killed 191 people, Europe's worst ever single terrorist attack.
