65% of the participants of a national representative poll conducted by the MBMD polling agency last week are decided to go to the polls June 17 and have already made up their minds as to who they will vote for. Another 12% are still unsure which political formation to support. These results show that turnout at the elections is expected to stand at some 70%, reads an analysis in the paper presented by MBMD director Miroslava Yanova. King Simeon II enjoys the greatest popularity - 41% of the respondents say they would vote for him. When given a choice between the main parties and coalitions, 45% point to the Simeon II National Movement, which is sufficient for an absolute majority in the next parliament. However, many unknowns remain, says Yanova - a third of Simeon`s sympathizers tend to withdraw their support if he does not top the lists in their constituency. The research was conducted one day before it was announced that Simeon will not run for MP.
