CSKA Sofia Sweeps Bulgarian Title

CSKA of Sofia has secured its 30th victory in the history of Bulgarian football championship after winning 2-1 against struggling Pirin (Blagoevgrad) over the weekend.

The victorious match has gained the red-suited crucial 6 points ahead of the runner-up Levski of Sofia. The two teams are still to meet on Wednesday on National Stadium "Vassil Levski.

Emil Gargorov, named player of the match, scored CSKA's decider in the 77th minute after setting up Evgeni Yordanov to head home the first goal of the match in the 16th minute. Pirin's Georgi Georgiev levelled the scores in between.

CSKA, who clinched the honour without a loss this season, produced 25 wins and four draws and also secured a berth in the Champions League qualifying stages, while Levski will enter the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup along with Lokomotiv Plovdiv who clinched third place despite a 4-2 loss at Rodopa.
