Bulgaria-born violin virtuoso Vasko Vassilev staged a Sofia concert dedicated to the memory of Frank Sinatra.

His decision was explained with the fact that the music of Sinatra is living through a renaissance in the United Kingdom and the western countries and should find its place as classics in Bulgaria as well.

The Sofia concert of Vassilev, who besides here will take part in the European Musical Festival in Pleven and Varna, run Tuesday evening under the conduct of renowned John Wilson.

Once gaining fame as the wonder kid of violin, the outstanding Bulgarian musician has handed down his ancient instrument to a younger colleague in Sofia earlier this week with the wish that it brings her as much success as it did for himself.
