The fines for illegal trading with ferrous and non-ferrous metals should go up thirteen times according to a Ministry of the Economy proposal. The proposal will be discussed at the next meeting of the Government. Currently, the fees for illegal trading with ferrous and non-ferrous metals are from BGN 10 to BGN 150. They will be in the range of BGN 150 to BGN 2000 in case that the proposal is approved. The reason for the fees increase is due to the numerous thefts of cables from the electricity network of the country.
