Scientists in Utah, US have discovered fossils of a previously unknown dinosaur kind, BBC said citing the Nature magazine.

Falcarius Utahensis lived about 125 million years ago and belonged to a group of dinosaurs that were the early ancestors of birds.

The adult dinosaur reportedly walked on two legs, was about 4m long and stood 1.4m tall.

Scientists believe the species was in the process of converting from a carnivorous state to vegetarianism.
