At least USD 18 M should be invested in a project for a skiing zone in Bansko - one of the best Bulgarian winter resorts. The project includes a cable car, new ski runs and equipment, canteens, recreation facilities, doctor's offices, a police department, rescue service base and a weather centre. Bansko municipality expects to get the money from foreign banks and has already negotiated that. United Bulgarian Bank, Bulbank and Raiffeisen, among others, will most probably finance the project. Bankso offers to repay the loan in eight years and a half. The latest estimates show that the whole project may be completed in two and a half or three years. “Representatives of IMF who have been here to see the project, agree that Bansko is developing in the right direction,” Bansko’s Mayor said.
