Orthodox Bulgarians commemorated Good Friday, which is believed to be the day when Jesus Christ was crucified.

Legend has it that during Good Friday no one should work, as it is considered to be a sin.

Bulgarians mark Good Friday by going to church in the evening. When church bells start ringing people pass under a table in the middle of the church and light a candle. This is believed to render sins redeemed.

Good Friday follows Great Thursday, the day that Easter eggs are being coloured in Bulgaria - one of the last days for Easter preparations.
