Fiorentina's Bulgarian star Valeri Bojinov returned to the pitch after an injury last weekend, but his performance was seen as rather disappointing.
The teenage striker replaced Miccoli in the second half of a goalless match against Bologna.
Bojinov had spent two months recovering from an injury.
Meanwhile, he missed two crucial World Cup qualifiers of the Bulgarian national team, and watched the squad suffer 0-3 to Sweden and a despairing 1-1 to Hungary.
Bojinov's EUR 13 M transfer into Fiorentina became the biggest sensation of the winter transfer window.
However, the starlet has not yet unfolded his potential with the Violas. He has scored only one goal since January, in a contrast to his prolific play with former club Lecce.
