The World Climbing Cup competition took place in Bulgaria's city Veliko Tarnovo from April, 22d to 24th, 2005, Female and Male, difficulty and speed category.

It was organized by the Federation of the Bulgarian Alpine Clubs (FBAC) in accordance with the ICC General, Difficulty and Speed regulations.

Competitors from 21 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Indonesia and Japan, took part in the World Climbing Cup that was under the patronage of Bulgaria's President Parvanov.

A total of 56 men and 46 women competed in Veliko Tarnovo in the two disciplines, world and European champions.

For the first time sportsmen from Indonesia, Hong Kong and China attended such an event organized in Bulgaria.
